Ways these Denver Broncos together with the 'play-dough' quarterback could stop that Chiefs' reign.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the NFL season and after last week's discussion regarding two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

But it proved positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing more than four defenders but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted during a show how Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

New TE their tight end has stepped up big and new RB JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in positive situations.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass all over, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding varied release points to deliver throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great composure under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently rush it consumes time and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their forte, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
