Trump's Family Member Receives Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut

Emerging athlete preparing for major tournament

The rising star boasts considerable social media following

Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile backers when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, was granted a special exemption to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates several golf courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.

The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa basically told me to compete and relax," she explained.

"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, so he's quite busy."

Being non-professional, the golfer has competed in just three tournaments this year and maintains the 461st position in AJGA standings.

However she's able to get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Kai's mother.

"He stands as the best player worldwide," Kai stated.

"And he's an even better individual. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face some of most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

Officials stated that her participation helps introduce golf to new audiences, specifically among younger fans.

The young star boasts a massive following and has started her own fashion and living label.

She begins at late afternoon GMT.
