A Significant Investment In mid-December, Adult Swim revealed exciting news: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two more seasons. This offers showrunner Joe Cappa significant creative freedom to develop the story of the Campbell family. The show follows three polite teenage brothers whose central trait is their deep love for their widowed father, with Cappa portraying for all four main characters. "I am incredibly thankful to the viewers of the show who took a chance on the show and helped it grow," stated Cappa. "I am overjoyed that I get to continue exploring the Campbell household for a little longer." Executive Acclaim Accompanying the news praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who called the series as "profoundly sincere and uniquely eerie." He thanked the fans who embraced the show and championed its uniquely offbeat appeal. "All of you showed up for this new show, championed for it on social media, and helped it grow week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," noted Ouweleen. Previously, creator Joe Cappa expressed his hope to evolve comedy past its long-running layer of irony. He attributed this trend to various cultural shifts. “There's this level of irony that we can't get ourselves out of,” noted Cappa. “The attitude is that we have to know we’re the cleverest viewer in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for a decade, and we need to laugh at something different now.
