Nearly 55,000 homes have currently been affected by the weather, with their possessions and temporary homes destroyed.

Intense rains over the recent period have intensified the already dire circumstances of the many hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians in the territory, as stated by relief organizations.

"Horrendous" Conditions Creates Severe Risks

A representative characterized the previous night's conditions as "terrible", with downpours so severe that up to 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the ground.

"The recent weather was exceptionally terrible for the families. The storms were so strong... And the gales were so powerful," said the spokesperson.

Authorities voice grave concern that young ones living in temporary structures in soaked attire will fall victim to hypothermia and additional illnesses.

Fatalities and Extensive Damage

The health ministry have reported that one baby has succumbed from exposure and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in structural failures due to the severe weather.

Other reports indicate a increased number of casualties. Officials reported that several homes had totally fallen and dozens had collapsed partially.

  • Roughly 55,000 families impacted by the weather.
  • More than 40 emergency shelters submerged.
  • Countless residents compelled to find new shelter.

Assistance Operations Considered Insufficient

Agencies have stepped up shipments of tents, blankets and clothes after the truce began, but they stress there is continues to be not enough aid getting in.

"We are operating tirelessly to deliver that aid and to hand it out, but the size of the necessities is so immense that we are faced with a great number of people and minors who are genuinely enduring hardship every night," stated one representative.

Future Issues and Truce Plans

The next stage of the truce encompasses proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the pullback of military forces, and other conditions.

Aid groups have stressed the necessity for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to address pressing and long-term needs."

The war was initiated by an assault in October 2023. Later campaigns have caused a substantial number of lives lost in the territory, based on official figures.
