Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest action-packed game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is known for embracing action and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while telling engaging, politically driven tales. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have embodied all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' format by featuring a different location and group of personalities in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, placing faith in us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant trust and assistance.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a take of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a version on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of society through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, daring sensibility to the audience.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
